What does DivisionOS collect? The short answer? Nothing.

By default, DivisionOS collects zero data, and it's our intention to keep it this way. We do not want user data, and we do not use any form of telemetry.

When you install DivisionOS, you are given the option to enable Beacon services. These services are used to connect to network time and location services, for use with Weather and other applications. Beacon services do not use telemetry or tracking, we do not monitor any connections made with Beacon, and no data is saved by DivisionOS. However, we do understand that some users may simply want their machines to make zero outbound connections for location and time.

For this reason, all Beacon services are opt in and off by default.

With the exception of direct updates and image downloads, all outbound connections and requests DivisionOS makes on its own must go through the Beacon service.

All Beacon services are fully toggleable per connection type and service type: Time, Location, Weather, Weather Alerts and Fetch Requests, along with any future system side connection requests.

DivisionOS is committed to a simple belief: your system belongs to you, and so does your operating system. It should behave the way you expect when it comes to your privacy choices.

For online items such as donations, we only collect the information users have decided to share, for example, names on our donation and funding pages.

For third party services and community areas, DivisionOS has no control over these items, and each of them carries its own privacy policy. Before joining our community Discord or using other third party services, make sure to read their policies.

In summary, your data belongs to you, the user. We do not want it, and we do not keep or collect it.
